B-Line Rider Rules of Conduct

Safety is a top priority for Butte Regional Transit. All passengers must observe the Butte Regional Transit Rider Rules of Conduct and all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Smoking, eating, or drinking; and loud disturbances are prohibited (California Penal Code § 640).
- Assaulting a transit passenger or driver is a crime punishable by imprisonment, a fine up to $10,000, or both (California Penal Code § 243.3).
- Federal law requires that priority seats be made available to persons with disabilities and seniors.
- It is against state law to evade payment of bus fare or misuse transfers, passes, or tickets to avoid fare payment (California Penal Code § 640).
- Violence, verbal or physical abuse, vandalism, engaging in boisterous or unruly behavior, or any illegal activity directed at a transit passenger or driver is prohibited.
- Firearms, ammunition, and other dangerous weapons as defined by state law are prohibited (California Penal Code § 171.7).
Penalties may be enforced by Butte Regional Transit for riders that violate the Rider Rules of Conduct and/or applicable state and federal regulations. This may include a term of suspension or permanent expulsion from riding Butte Regional Transit.

B-Line Mobility Aid Policy
B-Line Mobility Aid PolicyThe current version of the Mobility Aid Policy was approved on 8/27/26. It provides procedures and actions that are allowed for those that use B-Line fixed route service with an ADA approved mobility aid or a non-ADA approved mobility device, such as a stroller or electric bicycle. These policy rules are also posted on each bus.
As always, B-Line passengers are expected to follow guidence and instruction from any B-Line driver, whether vehicles are in motion or not. Please call (530) 342-0221 with any questions or for more information.
